Thai VIP Intercity Buses + Thai - Lao International Buses.

Thai VIP Intercity Buses: Route and Timetable information.

This is a listing of the route and timetable information for the highest standard VIP buses covering many different parts of Thailand. These buses have a 1 + 2 seating layout with much wider seats and more legroom. All 24 and 32 seat VIP buses have on board toilets and are air conditioned.

Some buses also have massaging seats and in seat video screens. Most of these VIP buses provide drinking water and snack food on board. I recommend these 24 and 32 seat VIP buses as a more comfortable way of getting to rural Thailand from Bangkok. The ticket costs for these VIP buses ranges from 500 baht to 1200 baht per person per single trip depending distance traveled.

This is an image of a 32 seat double deck VIP intercity bus. Bus type Volvo/Cherdchai B12B. Bus number 927 – 870.

This is an image of the seating and interior of a 32 seat VIP intercity bus. Note the 2 + 1 seating layout for extra comfort. The TV is only used during daylight trips and while waiting to depart the bus terminal.

This is an image of another example of a snack box provided to passengers on the VIP buses. This one also contains a small drink as well as sweet snacks and coffee making items.

Below is a listing of the Best VIP buses services to selected destinations across Thailand. To a large number of these listed destinations there are other private bus companies that offer VIP buses to Bangkok. However some of these companies are substandard and you should be careful when booking if there prices are far lower than the other companies offering VIP buses from that destination then its likely their standard is lower too. Both of the companies listed below I have personal experience with and they are of a high standard with clean safe buses.

Nakhon Chai Air bus company. (NCA)

This is a private bus company that operates 24 seat VIP (2+1 layout) and 32 seat (2+2 layout) buses. This is the best of the private VIP bus companies in Thailand. Below is a listing of the timetable and routes. They confusingly market there 24 seat VIP buses as “First class”. When booking check that you are on the 24 seat VIP bus and not on the 32 seat bus.

Wow! There's a bus to Phuket from Morchit? Do you know how much the fare is please?

thaitransit said...

Its about 1000 baht per trip for the VIP bus. But there are more buses from southern bus terminal to phuket. This bus is only worth it if you live very close to mochit 2 not if your on sukhumvit or in thonburi areas.

Or connecting off a bus from the north or north east and traveling directly onwards to phuket.

paulhew234 said...

Well I live in Korat so I would be arriving at Morchit but as there's only one a day, and as I'm on a budget, I'll probably take the train to Bangkok then make my way to the southern bus terminal and take the cheapest bus to Phuket which I believe is in the region of 600 baht.

So, if I'm not being too cheeky, could you tell me how to get to the southern bus terminal from the main train station (by bus), please?

Dicko

Hi, I'm trying to work out how to get from NangRong to Bangkok by bus to connect with a private bus service to Pattaya. I need to be at their offices in Bangna-Trad Road, Bangna by 1330 11 May or alternatively catch their bus from the airport at 1400. Do you know the early morning schedule ex NangRong to MoChit for the 1st & Class buses? Hope you can help, I've been looking everywhere for a timetable. Thanks in advance.

Dicko,

Take a bus from Nang Rong to Buriram town and then take a bus to bangkok

Transport company 1st class departs:
8am, 9.10am, 9.30pm taking 6 hours

2nd class departs:
7.40am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12.40pm, 3.40pm, 6pm, 7.40pm, 8.50pm taking 6 hours.

NCA: 1st class bus departs:
8.30am, 9.40am, 11.10am, 5.10pm, 8.10pm, 10.10pm, 11.10pm, 12.10am
This company offers the highest comfort using a 2+2 layout bus with 32 seats.

I recommend traveling overnight as none of the bus companies offer an early enough trip to get to bangkok before 1pm.

Hi, A lot of good info, but I couldn't find what I was looking for, being info on a bus from Bangkok to Vientiane.
What's also interesting, is that all but the first couple of cross border busses to Vientiane from Nong Khai, won't get you there in time to make the Thai embassy to apply for a visa, which you need to do in the morning and collect the following afternoon.

thaitransit said...

There are no direct Bangkok - Vientiane buses. In fact the buses i listed are the only cross border buses between Thai and Laos.

What your best doing is to take an overnight VIP bus from Mochit 2 to Udon Thani or Nong Khai and then taking the 1st bus to Vientiane.

If that's not early enough there are taxis that will do the trip for 600 baht to the bridge then you cross the bridge and take a private charter van on the Laos side.

With less foreigners in Thailand the Visa queues at the Thai embassy in Laos should be shorter now days.

Hi, I will be in Thailand in late Sept. and need to go from Bangkok to Ubon. would realy appreciate your advice. Air fare seemed a little high. Haven't been in thailand for 40 years and am just coming back to visit the country.

thaitransit said...

Ed:

The best way is to take a VIP bus operated by NCA group the have two VIP buses one at 10.15am and the other at 9.45pm cost is about 750 baht per trip. This is the best bus service to Ubon same times for return taking about 8 to 9 hours.

There service is similar to that of a business class airline.

they depart from Mochit 2 in bangkok or there own terminal about 2 km north of mochit 2. Platforms 17 and 18 at mochit 2 are for all NCA buses.

Book the tickets as soon as you arrive in thailand as they do sell out fast.

Hi thx for all your posts! Very helpful! Do you know if I could get the same price for my visa that I paid in BKK which was 200Baht at the border of Nongkai to get into Laos? I have a Canadian passport but born in Thailand and my parents are Laotian.

Or do I need to do my visa back at the Lao embassy again to get this special Lao expat price?

Thx!
